How fire rescue professionals are using Tempus ALS advanced monitoring to save lives
Firefighter and Paramedic, Susana Webb, explains: “Some of the challenges that we encounter in the field are when we arrive at a call and there’s nobody there to tell us what happened. That’s when technology is a huge help for us to identify what’s going on with our patient.”

“It definitely has been a game changer.”
The EMS crew has been using the Tempus ALS since 2022, and Susana believes it has had a positive impact. “It definitely has been a game changer on every call. When we arrive at chaotic calls the monitor has all our dosages, all our medications, everything we need to act right there.”
Advanced features are a game changer
Susana highlights two particular features of the Tempus ALS that have made a difference to the way she is now able to deliver emergency care. “One is the accuracy and clarity of the camera,” said Susana, “and the 12-lead on the information to our Medical Directors. The fact that they are able to see right there and then what is going on with our patients, is a game changer.”

“The package allows me to help the crews make great decisions.”
James J Augustine MD, Chief Medical Officer
Chief Medical Office, James J Augustine MD, adds: “That telemedicine package allows our crews to talk directly to a doctor like me. And, in one package, be able to exchange visual material with me, as well as some of the diagnostic tests that have already been done on the patient.” When it comes to protecting people and property with honor, service and pride, North Collier Fire Rescue put their own lives on the line. But when it comes to choosing which vital technology they use to save lives, they never take risks.
